The end of this month marks the Snow Moon (also a blue moon as we experienced two full moons this month); the snow moon is one of my most favorite moons as it reminds me of one of life’s greatest lessons.
A little history about how this moon got its name: Up North, the earth is experiencing a long cold winter season where hunting is difficult and food is scarce. The snow moon reminds us not to let down our guard. The moon offers us added protection and encourages us to cherish what we find sacred and important to our survival. Although this time of year is harsh, we are reminded that spring is just around the corner, and with that, we can start to plan new intentions.
This new moon is an opportunity to create new opportunities and set new intentions.
Now is the perfect time to start thinking about the spring to come, to reflect on what it is you desire, and how to manifest those desires. Setting these intentions is what helped motivate those in the past who experienced these harsh conditions during the last few weeks of winter.
A new moon ritual is a chance to welcome the moon back and use it’s light and energy to bring about your desires and new beginnings. If you have been feeling uninspired, bored, or lacking motivation to improve your life, the new moon is the perfect time to get clear about what it is you truly want and set an intention to get it!
